Easy Bento # 11

Futomaki is my kids favorite. Anytime, any day. It's easy for me too because I get most of the ingredients ready and freeze.I have Tamagoyaki, crabsticks, kampyo, simmered mushrooms and kyuri. Of course there is also Kewpie mayo, Ebiko (fish roe) and sakura denbu (cod/fish flakes). You can see some wasabi and a tiny tupperware of Kikkoman shoyu - best!

i love futomaki especially with the pink sweet stuff which till today i have no idea what it is.

i used to pack them from this small japanese supermarket near my house in sect 20, PJ, to eat in college. it was so cheap. sadly the supermarket closed down.

I remember that mini mart too. I think it was called Tsujiki Mart or something. They used to cater for Japanese working at the factories nearby. I learnt how to keep the prawns 'straight' for Tempura, from the chef there.

The pink sweet stuff is the Sakura Denbu which is supposed to be made out of Cod fish and coloring.
