BENTO #115

Yesterday #2 didn't go to school. She had school projects to complete before she leaves for Korea for a Piano Competition in two weeks time. Not going to school meant no Bento so obviously there was no Bento post yesterday.

I planned this last night so it wasn't much of a hassle. I basically steamed the rice early this morning to make the Onigiri. The Salmon was brought out from the freezer last night and fried this morning. Half of it went to the Onigiri and the other half, I just simmered it in red miso and mirin. It was very flavorful.

On the right box is some simmered Kombu, blanched mushrooms and veggies mixed in garlic oil and shoyu. There was an orange for dessert.

I read up on your shoyu and mirin and yet I keep forgetting. I think it has a lot to do with not having cooked with it before. Now to hop over to your other post to read up on shoyu, kombu and mirin again. ha ha.

Korea! How fun for #2. And it's even better that she is doing something that she loves.

I had the same problem as allthingspurple. Finally printed out your post and went shopping with it. haha... you can start charging consultation fees.

3lilangels: Her music teacher says the international exposure will be good preparation for her Diploma exams in December.

She gets to attend several Master classes in Korea so her dad was more than happy to allow her to go.

Two months ago she had 2 master classes under a Singaporean Professor and she's been doing better since.
